The CHAMPS Sport and Fitness Program is an initiative of the New York City Department of Education that promotes physical activity among children going through the critical years of middle school. The name CHAMPS derives from the initials of the five values that define our participants: Cooperative, Healthy, Active, Motivated, and Positive Students.
How does the CHAMPS program work? Champs provides schools with grades 6-8 with resources to offer sports and fitness programs outside of school hours. The CHAMPS programs are offered in three seasons – Fall, Winter and Spring through the NYCDOE’s Office of School Wellness Programs. Presently, we are offering a CHAMPS Basketball, Dance and Volleyball programs. If you are interested please contact the school for the days and times of each program.
